Psychological analysis of a human beings character based on his sleep posture
Psychological analysis of a human beings character based on his sleep posture
The other day when I was passing through a crowded road, I saw an old man sleeping very comfortably on a wooden hand cart. For most of us it is a normal routine thing to find some old or homeless ones sleeping on the roadside way in the busy hours of the morning. But for me it made me think about an article that I had read a couple of years ago in The Hindu newspaper about sleep patterns & human behaviour. There are basically three postures, according to that article that human beings take when they sleep:
1. the child like pose
2. the trekker or mountaineer posture or also known as balasan in yoga
3. the happy go lucky pose
According to that article the child like pose is when a person sleeps like a child in the womb, this posture describes that a human being is basically emotionally weak hence requires a lot of love & care from near & dear ones.
The other posture ie that of a mountaineer or as in yoga described as the balasan describes that, that particular human being tends to be more adventurous just like a child & ready to take any risks along his/ her way.
The last posture described was the happy go lucky posture where basically human being sleeps on the back bone, this posture describes the laid back approach of the human being, it also describes that the human being is least prone to take any risks in his/ her life.
Apart from the analysis made by the newspaper article I also came across to sleep patterns that people have like the one I discussed in the being of my article, people able to sleep in the noisiest places. This sleep pattern is basically found among loners or people who are living alone far from the family. These people find solace in the noise around them. The other day when I fell sick I was not able to sleep so I switched on the television just to hear some noise. Within few seconds I was able to sleep comfortably the noise around made me feel secure that people are around me.
Another pattern that I have found is that people not able to sleep in crowded places, this pattern is basically found among people who live in an joint family or those who have kids in their family, hence all the noise through out their waking hours make it mandatory for them to have silence to sleep.
Sometimes its really strange when we think that minute aspects of our life can describe a lot about us…..so next time you see some one sleeping you can really read what is running in that persons mind…..

Mead- another food accident
Mead- the fermented honey, was probabaly the frirst fermented drink, perhaps also one among the very famous food accidents that helped in developing the pallette of a human being. maybe honey was left out, rain fell, yeast settled on the mixture. In both Greece & Rome, before wine making mead was offered to the Gods. Honey was a misterious substanceto ancient people. Greeks knew they were made by the bees, but coud not actually connect it how it was being made. Romans thought honey fell from heaven and landed on leaves, hence honey also was called as "the saliva of the stars". This could be probabaly the reeason why Mead was usually used as an offering drink to the Gods as well as the demi gods. Even in Shakespeare's play "The twelfth Night" there is the mention of this magical drink.
Are Indian blessings truly a curse in disguise
The other day when I had wished one of my friends on his birthday, he happened to ask for a blessing. Thats when it struck me whether our Indian context of blessing a human being that may he live for a one hundred year or something we bless a married women that may she have hundred children, are all nothing but ridiculous ones. Imagine oneself living for 100 years, the family bearing the brunt of the blessing, covering up his/ her medical bills, infact even the person finding it difficult to survive because he would have inherited several old age diseases by then. It is better then to die young; aatleast one doesnot have to listen to the regular abuses from the family memebers.

The Phoenix City of India
I have always wondered why of all the cities, Mumbai gets all the hype in the media, there are numerous cities in India what is then the mystic attraction of this city that keeps attracting the attention of both Indians as well as foreign nationals to this city.Even I too thought of coming back to this city of my birth after my graduation, and even today I do not miss the opportunity to come down to this place.
Even though I have lived in almost all the major cities like Delhi, Chennai yet I always dreamt of coming back to mumbai.
During my childhood have seen this city witnessing various problems but yet it rose again after every calamity, the pepole of this city too rose again unscathed by the wounds left behind by every misfortune whether personal or economic or political. I have also found that the misfits from every town, city, society always dream to come to mumbai. It is as though al the misfits finds solace in this mystical city.
Also I have found that every other person who dreams a different dream or follows a different star finds in peace with himself, where else could you find a waitress dreaming of being a film star, a unuch dreaming of being a politician, a gay dreaming of getting married to a gay.
The mystery lies in the inhabitants of this place, they accept anybody and everybody, without any judgement or rebuff nobody is looked down upon no matter what social or religious background he comes from.......the simple philosohy practised and followed by both young and old being ...live & let live.
